Home Farm Glamping, a boutique glamping hideaway nestled into 150 acres of private woodland on the Aldenham Estate in Hertfordshire, is returning for its eighth season this Spring 2023.
Twelve beautifully styled Bell Tents and Yurts make their home in the glamping meadow on the Aldenham Estate, just a short ten minute taxi ride from the Jubilee and Northern line and the Thameslink stations in Elstree. Even though the grounds are on London’s doorstep, once guests arrive, they will feel instantly immersed into the beautiful British countryside – hidden woodlands, lakes and rolling meadows – that have been cared for by the same family for over 400 years. With just twelve pitches in the main meadow surrounding a century’s old Oak tree, each tent offers a wonderfully private experience with plenty of freedom and space. This is a place where wellbeing meets wildlife and guests come to disconnect from their busy lives, rediscover nature and take time out for their own wellbeing.
NEW partnerships, workshops and events have a focus on wildlife and wellness, with the Aldenham Estate working hard to help tackle Britain’s biodiversity loss and encourage guests to rediscover the glorious natural world on our doorstep.
REWILD AND RECONNECT:
Woodland Regeneration Days (various dates) – The Aldenham Estate has been working hard to increase biodiversity across its 150 acres including planting 1,500 young saplings last winter. Guests can get involved in work taking place on site to help restore biodiversity, encourage local wildlife and learn about the indigenous plants and animals on the estate from Head Conservationist Rob Hopkins.
Abstract Watercolours Workshop with Essoldo Design (Various dates) £55pp – Budding artists can enjoy a mindful afternoon of watercolour painting with local artist Kate Rebecca Leach set amidst the beautiful landscape of Home Farm. Guests will take inspiration from the abundance of nature – such as flowers, leaves and seed pod motifs – to create their own nature-inspired piece of art with guidance on watercolour techniques.
OUTDOOR FEASTING & MUSIC IN THE MEADOW:
At Home Farm returns (various dates & prices) – Returning for a third year, ‘At Home Farm’ is a season of intimate events and residencies showcasing some of the UK’s finest chefs, renowned musicians, comedy and circus. Guests dine under trees amid the long grass with Woodfired Canteen & Friends, or wander through the fairy lit woods to a very special live music show on a secret woodland stage hosted by Communion Presents. Giffords Circus will also be returning in June with their magical travelling big top for all the family to enjoy.
WELLBEING IN THE WOODS:
For those looking for their stay to provide a moment of calm and chance to breathe deeply, Home Farm offers massages in the meadow, retreat days with The Human Experience, yoga on the lawn and even has an on-site Yoga Yurt offering regular yoga and meditation classes and special events run by SouLand Yoga.
