Heritage Le Telfair in Mauritius will be hosting a new photo safari for guests led by the award-winning photographer Richard James Taylor. The first workshop, running from 3rd-5th December 2022, will help participants develop their photography skills through guided sessions in the beautiful landscape of Bel Ombre in southern Mauritius.

Richard specialises in location photography, hospitality and travel features and has been a finalist in the Travel Photographer of the Year Awards.  His work is regularly featured in distinguished publications such as National Geographic, Wanderlust and Lonely Planet.

The course will start with a social cocktail evening and thereafter participants will visit some of the most beautiful Mauritian locations, including an exclusive sunrise excursion to Charmarel Falls and the Seven Coloured Geopark, before the public enter. In addition, they will explore the stunning Bel Ombre Nature Reserve with a ranger, where they will be able to photograph the incredible fauna and flora of the reserve.

Throughout the 3-day workshop Richard will share his top tips and advice on topics such as compositional technique, both on location and in workshops. The group will be kept to 10 people to ensure everyone receives one-on-one advice.

The workshop will conclude with a presentation led by Richard accompanied by wine and canapés, where the group’s photographs taken during the course will be displayed and discussed.  After the workshop the best images will be displayed around the resort for guests to enjoy.

This is the perfect retreat for those looking to take their photography to the next level.

Additional photo safari dates will be released soon.

The 3-day course costs £411 per person and includes welcome cocktail, all tuition and transport, canapés and wine evening. Participants are expected to bring their own SLR camera.

The Photo Safari can be added on to a stay at Heritage Le Telfair where rates start from £182/night for a Deluxe Suite on room only basis.
