Specialist tour operator Journey Latin America is delighted to announce the launch of their brand-new holiday to Guyana which coincides with the new direct flights on British Airways.
Signature Guyana: Wildlife and Waterfalls is a 12-day private journey that explores Guyana’s capital city, Georgetown, and its colourful markets before heading deep into the country’s lush and pristine interior. Stopping first at Kaieteur Falls, visitors will have the opportunity to observe the world’s largest single-drop waterfall. Continue south to Atta Rainforest Lodge for wildlife spotting on canopy walkways and nature trails. Agoutis, tayras, tapirs, black curassows and jaguars inhabit this region. Then venture by road and boat to the very remote Karanambu Lodge in the Rupununi. Here you will observe giant anteaters and giant river otters. Travellers will also have the opportunity to support and participate in a study into the endangered black caiman – the largest member of the alligator family. Another highlight of the region is a Victoria Amazonica waterlily boat trip at sunset. The penultimate stop is at Waikin Lodge near Lethem on the border with Brazil. Experience life on a real working ranch and visit Nappi Village for a cookery class. Return to Georgetown for the final night in Guyana before flying back to the UK.
Coinciding with British Airways direct flight departing Mondays and Thursdays to Georgetown from 27th March 2023, the holiday costs from £6,205 per person and includes flights on British Airways, domestic flights, transfers, guided excursions, accommodation and most meals.
Travel Expert for Journey Latin America Lina Fuller comments, “This holiday is ideal for those looking for adventure and wildlife on the path less trodden. The accommodation is simple, but the experiences are world-class. The new flight on British Airways touches down in Saint Lucia, making the route perfect for a Caribbean beach stopover on the way to or back from Guyana.”
