This year, Newcastle’s Christmas Market is bigger and better. Located around Grey’s Monument, the market will be packed with more stalls selling local, independent traders as well as a festive bar.
The Grainger Market will play centre stage in the city’s festivities this year, with a festive overhaul, Santa’s grotto and a programme of special events and performances.
The Market will run from Saturday 19 November until Friday 23 December and be extended this year to Grey Street and also Old Eldon Square.
No visit to Newcastle over the festive period would be the same without a visit to the famous Fenwick Christmas Window. The tradition of Fenwick decorating their window in their flagship store on Northumberland Street started back in 1971 and has become a cornerstone event of the festive calendar. This year the store has teamed up with bestselling author and illustrator Lauren Child. Clarice Bean: Think Like an Elf tells the story of the popular book character as she struggles to save Christmas. The display is in place until early January.
Get your skates on and take a spin around the annual outdoor ice rink at Life Science Centre, the only open-air ice rink in NewcastleGateshead this Christmas.
