The countdown to Christmas has begun and Temple Newsam in Leeds welcomed a brand-new glittering illuminated trail last Friday evening.

Visitors explored a magical trail, featuring spectacular light installations enchanting visitors with classical Christmas tunes and transforming the estate’s ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped grounds and gardens.

There’s a carpet of gentle colour changing spheres, neon strings stretched between towering trees, a flotilla of festive, brightly coloured boats bobbing on the lake, glitterball snowmen and plenty of selfie moments along the way.

New Trail Highlights for 2021

  • Christmas Cathedral – This majestic Cathedral, adorned with over 100,000 pea-lights and almost 50 metres long, is stunning to look at from a distance or to immerse yourself within, making it an Instagram showstopper
  • Neon Tree – its branches interwoven with multicoloured neon lights
  • Tree Stars – a woodland wrapped in stars that shimmer and sway in the moonlight

Independent street food vendors bring a delicious twist to tasty treats on offer. Have yourself a holly, jolly Christmas and complete your walk under the stars with *toasted marshmallows, a *spiced winter warmer or *hot chocolate shared with someone special.

Christmas at Temple Newsam provides a special way to celebrate the festive season with an unmissable outdoor experience. The trail, which runs from January 2, is designed for visitors of all ages and is accessible to all to enjoy.
